MetroWest UniServ

MetroWest UniServ

Serving the districts of Chaska, Minnetonka, Orono, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, and Westonka.

UniServ is a link between your local association and Education Minnesota. It gives locals an opportunity to communicate with representatives of the Education Minnesota Executive Board, field staff, state officers, and others within our organization.

The responsibilities of the UniServ Board are twofold. First, it provides dialogue between the Education Minnesota Executive Board and local representatives to keep locals updated and give input to directors. Second, it approves and monitors the UniServ councils.

How does UniServ help me?

UniServ is a link between Education Minnesota and your local.

UniServ councils support and supplement the activities of the locals.

UniServ reimburses 50% of local training costs, up to $2,000.00.

UniServ offers training opportunities to strengthen, promote, and advance the teaching profession such as; new teachers, member rights, negotiators, grassroots advocates, treasurers, etc…

We share stories and challenges happening in our locals.

UniServ meets monthly with Education Minnesota field staff who constantly run interference for our members.

We lobby together for lower class size, staff development, better working conditions, etc…

We share resources like busses and transportation to events, ideas for negotiation, membership strategies and much more!
